Give More, Get More

This week Nicole and I started our 3-Days-in-a-row Routine. I'm super stoked, but I'm also a lil scared! ;) So, here we go...

DAY 1: Today was a day in which we tortured my arms. We also did an "eye exam," but  I'll get to that later. First thing's first, Nicole started me off on the TRX. I leaned my chair all the way back under the TRX, gripped both handles, and repeatedly pulled my upper-body up. Then, with my chair still reclined, Nicole held a resistance band to the floor, and I pulled the band up by the handle, straight arm, pulling  up/in towards my chest. We did this on each arm, then we got a visitor! My mom came again, which suprised me and ended up being great for Nicole! Next, Nicole had me do "push-ups" with a pole. My mom generously offered to help Nicole out and hold one end of the pole for her, while Nicole held the other side. First, my mom held the pole down, so I couldn't push up

lol! Then my mom realized the point of the "push-ups," and her and Nicole applied massive amounts of pressure to the pole, but no longer making the "push-ups" impossible! Then they held the pole tightly, placing restraint on it, and I pulled down on the pole. They had me pushing up and pulling down, one right after the other. Nicole got creative with the tasks I was asked to do....hell, she had my mom there willing to help! So, I can't remember all of the fun ways I was asked to do "push-/pull-ups," but I know I had that pole above my chest, at different levels, for AWHILE. I will say tho, it was a great opportunity to show-off my rippin' arm muscless to my mom! They're gonna start calling me Michelle OBAMA...

Nicole ended the pole-work and handed me the 4lb weights! My only break occurred during the time it  took for my chair to un-recline! I did bicep curls for days! ;) (Each arm individually.) Then I lifted/punched the weights up. (Again, each arm individually.) Nicole had to help me control my arms on the puch-up part...my arms kind of sway around with the weight, and we were avoiding getting or giving any  black eyes! Besides us taking  precautionary measures, the arm lifts hurt like a bad word!
Although my arms were dreading it, Nicole had 'em do one more gnarley task. Normally, I'm used to doing the arm warm-ups at the beginning of our workouts. But today, they were a last lil suprise. I HONESTLY have never experienced a burn so deep! Nicole had me stretch my arms out to the sides. hold them there, twist invisible doorknobs, do little bouces, and bring mmy arms straight out in front of me and do over-unders...REPEATEDLY! My arms were sooo worked by the end of  that!

Then, thank God, Nicole had me do an eye-test. I wheeled over to a whiteboard that was hanging on the wall. Nicole had written 5 rows of random letters on the board. She asked me to first, read aloud the first and last letter of each row. I did and she timed me. Then I read aloud the first and last letter of each verticle row. Again, Nicole timed me. Next, I was timed reading aloud the first letter of the top, horizontal row and the last letter of the bottom, horizontal  row. Basically, I read to top row right to left, and the bottom row left to right, alternating between the two for each letter....make sense? Then, I was asked to read aloud the letters in row 1, followed by row 5, row 2, row 4, and  then row 3. That reading was timed as well. Lastly, Nicole asked me to just read all the letters up there, rows 1-5. She timed that, too.
So, I don't know how I did on my test yet, but something tells me there's always room for improvement!

I'll let ya know the results! ;)

PS- sorry for any spelling or gramatical errors in this blog...I'm POOPED and I'm not gonna proof-read
